What an Elopement in Slovenia Really Feels Like

What an Elopement in Slovenia Really Feels Like
An elopement is not just a smaller wedding. It is an intimate wedding day created around the couple, their story and the experience they want to have together.
It can be just the two of you, or a small celebration with your closest people. To me, an elopement is a deeply intentional day — one created around your energy, your story and the feeling you want to remember.
It Is About the Energy of the Day
From my own experience, I know how important the energy of a wedding day can be. When you choose an elopement, you are not only choosing a location or a photographer. You are choosing who will be part of your day, who will stand close to you and who will influence the atmosphere around you.
The people around you on such an intimate day should make you feel calm, safe, seen and supported. Especially during an elopement, your photographer is often one of the few people present.
This is why I care so much about the energy I bring into your day. My role is not only to create beautiful images, but also to bring calm energy, gentle guidance and a feeling of support.
Elopement Photography Is More Than Beautiful Photos
Beautiful photographs matter. They are the memories you will return to years from now. But for me, elopement photography is more than creating pretty images.
It is about noticing the quiet in-between moments: the deep breath before you see each other, the way your hands touch during your vows, the nervous smile before the ceremony, the wind in your hair and the silence after saying “I do.”
My approach is natural, gentle and emotional. I guide when needed, but I do not want the experience to feel staged.

Why Slovenia Is So Special for Elopements
Slovenia has lakes, mountains, castles, forests, old towns and quiet hidden corners. Lake Bled is iconic and romantic. Lake Bohinj feels wilder and more peaceful. Lake Jasna and Kranjska Gora bring strong alpine scenery, while Ljubljana and Piran offer a softer city or seaside atmosphere.
But the location is only one part of the story. The most important thing is how the place feels to you.
There is no one correct way to elope. There is only your way.
A Day That Feels Like You
Do you want the day to feel peaceful and private? Adventurous? Elegant? Emotional? Playful? Slow? Do you imagine being completely alone or sharing the moment with a few close people?
An elopement gives you permission to choose the time, the place, the rhythm and the people around you. You can remove the pressure and keep only what feels meaningful.
That is why I love photographing elopements so much. They remind me that love does not need to be loud to be powerful.
What I Want You to Remember From Your Elopement
When I photograph an elopement, I am there to document the day with care, calmness and intention. I can help with location ideas, timing, light, simple planning guidance and the flow of the photography part of the day.
I want your gallery to show not only how everything looked, but how it felt: the peace, excitement, emotion and connection that surrounded you.
Because an elopement is not about doing less. It is about choosing more of what matters.
A Few Questions Couples Often Ask
What is an elopement?
An elopement is an intimate wedding day focused on the couple and their experience. It can be just the two of you, or a small celebration with your closest people.
Is Slovenia a good place to elope?
Yes. Slovenia offers romantic lakes, mountains, castles, old towns and peaceful natural locations within relatively short travelling distances.
Where is the best place to elope in Slovenia?
Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, Lake Jasna, Kranjska Gora, Ljubljana, Piran and the Julian Alps all create very different experiences. The best one depends on your season, priorities and how you want the day to feel.
Can you help us choose a location?
Yes. I can help you choose a location based on your style, privacy wishes, season, light and the experience you want to create.
How long should elopement photography coverage be?
A few hours can be enough for a simple elopement. If you want preparations, ceremony, portraits, multiple locations and a relaxed dinner, longer coverage will tell the story more fully.
